About ISMP

The International Symposia on Mathematical Programming (ISMP) are the flagship conferences of the Mathematical Optimization Society (MOS). Since 1951 the Symposia have provided a comprehensive forum for presentation of research results in the mathematics of mathematical programming, in algorithms and computation, and in modeling. Note that there was also an earlier meeting, in Chicago in 1949, that is often referred to as the "zeroth Symposium". Since 1964, ISMP have regularly been three years apart with locations alternating between North America, Europe and the rest of the world.

Scope

The ISMP covers a broad range of topics across the theory, algorithms, and applications of mathematical optimization. Its scope includes, but is not limited to:

  • linear, nonlinear, and convex optimization
  • integer, combinatorial, and global optimization
  • stochastic optimization and stochastic programming
  • applications and software
